Ships of Theseus
Intrduction
You will lead humanity's last hope through the collapsed ruins, repair the roads, defeat mutated creatures, uncover the profound secrets between technology and humanity, and face the ultimate decision for the fate of mankind's survival.
Inspiration
Inspired by a classmate talk, Ship of Theseus explores a post-apocalyptic world where human consciousness may survive in machines, questioning identity, humanity, and paradoxes between technological progress and the disappearance of human existence.
Control combines supernatural powers with technology, where players explore a mysterious organization and uncover the truth. Its environmental design and enemy mechanics enhance the special abilities of mutated creatures while exploring the relationship between technology and human consciousness.
Death Stranding is set in a post-apocalyptic world where players repair roads, deliver supplies, and fight mutated creatures. It’s exploration, rebuilding mechanics, the tense experience of road repair, and enemy attacks.

UI Design
Use Navmesh to bake the scene and set the movable range, falling area, and up and down stairs area.
Similarly, the enemy follows the player's movement based on NavMesh, making enemy prefab
Setting Player Movement
Set the zombie spawn point, number of zombies, and prefabs to spawn. More zombies with different attributes and appearances can be added later.Also, set a zone response: when the player passes by a certain location, it triggers the spawn of zombies at that location.

Game Art
Color& Lighting: Tested coloring with sketches, then used modular block variations and custom materials. Enhanced atmosphere by contrasting light and shadow, achieving the desired aesthetic in the scene.
Modular Level: I built my 3D level in Unity, using modular blocks to build my level. This allows me to fully reach my hand-painted level design and works well with the scene construction mechanic.
Orthographic Camera: In order to reach the player's view of my design, there should be no perspective distortion or stretching caused by the perspective. So I set the camera projection is orthographic in Unity and set the size and rotation to get the designed visual effect.
